Democratic Republic of Congo launches the first National Forum for Sustainable Development Goals
The first national forum for the Sustainable Development Goals, FNODD (Forum National sur les Objectifs de Développement Durable) has been launched through a two-day conference in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The conference was planned by L’Observatoire Congolais du Développement Durable (OCDD) together with the DRC team in the project Building Capacity for Sustainable Development in Fragile States (SDGCap).
On 13 December, the Minister of Home Affairs, representing the Prime Minister, launched and established for the first time the FNODD as the national level multisectoral platform for the Sustainable Development Goals. The following day, at the closing session, the Minister of Planning established the Observatoire Congolais du Développement Durable (OCDD) to take on the role of permanent secretary of the FNODD Committee. Other institutions of this committee will be set soon in a meeting to be organized by OCDD.
